ENVY HAND OVER FUNDS RAISED, TO HUGS FROM HENRY

Envy are always keen to support local charities where possible.

2016 Envy's chosen charity was Hugs from Henry.

Hugs From Henry supports families affected by childhood cancer, neuroblastoma from diagnosis, through treatment and post. The Hugs From Henry team aims to grow the charity to be able to support hundreds of families who are forced to deal with neuroblastoma across the United Kingdom.

The Envy team held various small fund raising events such as Cake sales, sponsored walk, raffles, mufti day and had collection change buckets in the salon all year round.

On 23rd December Tracie Gunningham presented a cheque for £962.21.

Well done TEAM ENVY.

ENVY TAKES PART IN WORLD CANCER DAY

Envy BWY & Envy RWY took part in their first fundraiser of the year this week… and what a success!

Each employee was challenged to bake something to help create a variety of delicious goodies for a cake sale in aid of world cancer day.

The event that was held across 2 days, raised £140 in its first day alone, the total amount is still yet to be confirmed.

Hugs from Henry being Envy’s chosen charity of 2016, means that all proceeds of the charity cake sale will go towards helping Team Hugs support children and their families who are diagnosed with childhood cancer.

Envy would like to thank all clients and local business for making their first event so successful, and for the kind donations.

CREAM TEA NETWORKING.

Tracie Gunningham recently attended a networking event held at Buckland Tout- Saints.

Hosted by Clare Stirling, the cream tea was attended by a variety of different businesses from across the city including Ocean BMW, accountants and engineering consultants.

The afternoon consisted of local businesses’ raising money for Jeremiah’s Journey through the uses of a raffle, generous donations and paying £5 each for their ticket to the cream tea.

The afternoon was a successful event, with the attendees being given the chance to build business relations as well as raise money. The total amount raised is still yet to be confirmed.

ENVY TO SPONSOR HUGS FROM HENRY THROUGHOUT 2016.

Envy are proud to announce, their chosen charity for 2016 will be Plymouth based ‘Hugs From Henry’.

Requested specifically by the staff of the 3 Envy salons, all fundraising will go towards raising awareness and support for children suffering a rare childhood cancer.

Henry Hallam was only 3 years old when his family were told he had stage 4 Neuroblastoma, a form of childhood cancer.  Henry suffered months of gruelling treatments to help save his life, in various locations across the country.

The original charity ‘Hugs For Henry’ was set up to help raise money for treatment available outside the UK, which could be beneficial to Henry.

In 2013, Henry was given the news that his condition is stable. His parents decided to change the charity from ‘Hugs For Henry’ to ‘Hugs From Henry’ – The charity offers any kind of support emotionally and financially for families who find themselves in the same position as the Hallam family did in 2012.

Envy will be hosting a variety of different charity events throughout the year to raise money for their local charity.

More information on Hugs From Henry can be found on the website: http://hugsfromhenry.co.uk/

‘ENVY ‘S GOT TALENT’

The Lady Taverner’s summer ball went off with a blast last week, with a ‘Plymouth’s Got Talent’ theme. The annual ball held this year at the Holiday Inn raised money for young disabled and disadvantaged children ‘to give them a sporting chance in life’, the total raised on this evening was £14K.

Envy’s Directors, Tracie and Ian Gunningham were part of the judging panel for the evening where they played the roles of Alesha Dixon and Simon Cowell. With moral support from all 4 salon managers, and local artist Peter Blacker the evening was certainly one to remember for team Envy.

Plymouth Got Talent was the real deal, with the ballroom decorated in traditional British colours, Union jacks could be found on each table, and the judges were even equipped with ‘X’ buzzers for the show.

Talent poured in from across the city for the evening, with a wide variety of acts to put on the show. The talent consisted of a tap dance from Marie Hewitt, singing and dancing from Wolferstans solitors and Mark Holt and a solo trumpet player from Astra Recruitment.

The talent show was followed by an evening of dancing the night away to Hot Candy (a local band).

A fun and successful evening was had by all members of Envy who attended. Check out our photos from the evening below.

Envy supports local Plymouth charities

February 20th 2015

Envy have been stepping up their game in the charity fundraising world this year.

During the chilly February month, Envy partnered up with Nuffield Health to support Plymouth’s  local charities- Jeremiahs Journey, Kibera in Need and Shekinah- to help raise money for each cause.

The talented Envy stylists visited Nuffield Health, carrying their bags of equipment ready hard to work and raise money all for chairty.

To raise some big cash, owner Tracie Gunningham devised a tempting strategy to gain the public interest- quality services at cheap prices.

The Envy team offered:

  • £10 cut & blow dry’s
  • £5 gents cuts
  • £10 shellac nails

At these prices, who could say no- especially after a hard workout at the gym!

In total with just one day of events, the Envy team alone raised an amazing £100 for each individual charity.

This is an amazing achievement for the team, who plan to take part in many more charity events throughout the year.
